Call For Volunteers
Why Volunteer for BSidesLV?
We’re a volunteer-organized event, put on by and for the community, and we truly strive to keep information free. Our costs are covered by our generous donors and sponsors, who share our vision of free dissemination of information, and we rely on Volunteers to help make the conference a success. We see the people who come to BSidesLV as participants, instead of attendees, who share our goal to foster growth & community in the InfoSec World. We need good, reliable folks. We have Volunteer opportunities for load-in/set-up all the way through load-out/tear-down, Monday through Thursday the week of the conference.

What Positions are Available?
General Volunteers (we call them Volts) range from helping to run A/V equipment, registering attendees, escorting speakers, general setup, introducing speakers, selling t-shirts, assisting the lockpick village, and many more. See the Volt Guide for details.
Safety Operations is the team that helps us enforce fire codes, direct participants to the room they’re looking for, help keep the flow of foot traffic going, receive Code of Conduct reports, ensure folks aren’t in off-limits areas, keep a watchful eye on our assets, and more, all with a smile and a helping attitude. Everyone is welcome, we aren’t guarding nukes.
I am going to miss my shift(s) or can’t make it at all
Life happens, we totally understand but please tell us (via email or slack) as soon as you know and are able to do so. The sooner the better as it helps us be able to plan and accommodate for your absence.
If I miss a shift will this invalidate my shared comped room? Not if you contact us. When in doubt, reach out to the Volunteer Coordinators on slack or email.
